Imphal, January 13 2022:
The All Kangleipak Students' Union (AKSU) has come out against the recent threats and demands for money from COHSEM employees by an alleged underground group.
In a statement, AKSU called the situation unfortunate and stated that this could disrupt the preparations for the upcoming class X and XII exams.
The statement added that the preparations for the exams will be on a huge scale as altogether around 70,000 students are slated to appear for the exams and will require a much larger number of exam centres to ensure Covid SOPs are followed.
Stating that the COHSEM office is a mere 500 meters away from Imphal Police Headquarter, AKSU remarked that the State Govt has failed to protect its citizens and expressed the need for the State Govt to take up measures such as investigating the issue and providing ample security to ensure that the exams are conducted smoothly.
AKSU stressed on the importance of COHSEM to the student community of the State and as such urged for an end to such instances of threats to its employees.
