Nishikant moots public movement to save youth from drugs

Owner of The Sangai Express Nishikant Singh Sapam has emphasised the need to launch a public movement to save the youth from the drug menace while felicitating Anushree Rajkumari who bagged a gold medal in the recent 6th Federation Cup Jeet Kune Do Championship at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai.
The Jeet Kune Do Championship was held at New Delhi on January 8 and 9 .
Speaking to the media, Nishikant, who will contest the 12th Assembly election from Keishamthong Assembly Constituency, said that drug abuse is rising alarmingly in the State with grave consequences.
Saying the drug abuse has the potential to ruin a generation and is detrimental to the society at large, Nishikant maintained that he has come across many talented youth who are unable to tap their potential due to harmful effects of drugs and other intoxicants.

Nishikant also said that all drug dealers should be dealt with seriously to save the young generation from drugs.
Maintaining that he is proud of Anushree who has brought laurels to the State, Nishikant urged the young athlete to continue to work hard and strive for greater achievements.
The intending candidate further stated he helped Anushree, who hesitated to take part in the competition due to her father's ailments, compete in the National championship as a sports loving person.
Nishikant assured that he will continue to extend more help and assistance to Anushree in her future endeavours.
The owner of The Sangai Express also presented a shawl, a figurine of Sangai and memento to Anushree.
Anushree credited her success to her mentors, Nishikant and elders.
