Manipur records 155 new cases, TPR at 5.9 pc

Imphal, January 13 2022:
Spike in triple digit continues for the third consecutive day today with 155 persons including 55 Central security personnel testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.
On January 11 Manipur reported 116 new cases and 206 fresh infections on January 12 heralding the return to daily three digit increase.
On the other hand, the hill districts continue to remain at the bottom of the vaccination table with some scoring below the 20 percent mark for the second dose.
No deaths were reported in the same period, according to the State Level COVID-19 Deaths Audit Committee, said the COVID-19 Common Control Room in a statement.
The total death toll due to the virus continues to remain at 2012 .
The 155 positive cases were detected out of a total of 2610 samples tested in the last 24 hours to take the daily positivity rate to 5.9 percent.
The World Health Organisation had recommended that any place should think of opening up only when the daily positivity rate is maintained below the 5 percent mark for two weeks.
The positive cases were confirmed during testing at RIMS (1), JNIMS (63) and other testing centres (91) .
The 100 positive cases from amongst the civilians are from Imphal East (12), Imphal West (28), Thoubal (7), Bishnupur (4), Kakching (1), Noney (1), Ukhrul (6), Senapati (2), Chandel (12) and Churachandpur (27) .
All necessary medical precautionary measures like containment and contact tracing have been taken up, claimed the COVID-19 Common Control Room.
With the addition of 155 more cases, the total number of positive cases in Manipur now stands at 1,26,705 including 4634 Central security personnel.
In the last 24 hours 34 persons were discharged including from home isolation (29), RIMS (1), JNIMS (1) and CCCs (3) .
The cumulative number of recovered cases now stands at 1,23,836 inclusive of 4434 Central security personnel and the recovery rate is now 97.74 percent.
The total number of vaccine administered on January 12 is 6570 taking the total to 23,70,050 including 10,14,455 second dose.
Altogether 2776 precautionary doses were administered on the same day.
Kangpokpi continues to remain at the bottom of the vaccination table with only 13.35 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose and 19.91 the first dose.
Ukhrul and Kamjong make up the last three spots on the table with 18.86 percent (second dose) and 25.34 percent (first dose) and 22.90 percent (second dose) and 34.44 percent (first dose) respectively.
The other districts which are at the bottom of the vaccination table include Noney (29.20 pc second dose; 40.90 first dose), Pherzawl (31.92 pc second dose; 33.93 first dose), Senapati (24.74 pc second dose; 32.86 first dose), Tamenglong (29.75 pc second dose; 41.21 pc first dose) .
Amongst the hill districts, Chandel is up there with 52.86 pc of the eligible population having received their second dose and 67.15 the first dose.
Jiribam continues to lead the table with 59.30 percent of the eligible population having received the second dose and 71.73 percent the first dose.
On January 12, a total of 153 D Type Oxygen cylinders and 9 B Type Oxygen cylinders were made available to different health centres across the State.
