Beru-Unopat club celebrates golden jubilee

Beru-Unopat Youth Club celebrated its post golden jubilee at Beru-Unopat village playground, which is under western valley area of Chandel district on Thursday.
The celebration held under the theme 'Arise and Shine' was attended by Autonomous District Council Chandel caretaker chairman D Ringo Lamkang , All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) general secretary Sr Andria, social worker Molun Pashel, Anal Naga Baptist Churches' Association (ANBA) education secretary reverend Sr Monshi, social worker KL Longhring, Tribal Affairs and Hills section officer Ht Joyni, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) block mission manager Rd Everjoy and ex-MP Bd Behring as presidium members.
D Ringo Lamkang inaugurated the celebration by hoisting the club flag, reverend Sr Monshi unveiled the jubilee monument and Sr Andria released a souvenir.
A two-minute silence was also observed as a mark of respect to the departed founders of the club.
Speaking on the occasion, D Ringo Lamkang reminded that the founder members established the club for the welfare of future generations.
He urged the youth to take the advice of elders and act on them for attaining success in life.
It may be mentioned here that Benu-Unopat village is a small village of Anal tribe and has 87 households with a population of 650 people.
The village is 22 km away from Chandel district headquarters.
