Imphal, February 02 2023:

On Thursday, Jiten was produced before the court of CJM Imphal West with a prayer for 5 days police remand.
The IO of the case submitted to the court that SDC Imphal West had given an order with regard to a complaint filed by one Luwangthem Priyokanta in connection with a mutation case on February 3, 2021 .
The order restored a 0.09143 acre of land (Patta no 2044; DS Dag no 2258) in Village no 42-Keishamthong, in the name of one Khuraijam Birmani Singh instead of Luwangthem Priyokanta.
On January 17, 2022, Priyokanta filed a petition to the DC Imphal West appealing for rectification of the land record.
On February 3, 2022, SDC Imphal West (C) SK in-charge Shamurailatpam Jiten Sharma was tasked to conduct an inquiry in connection with the petition, which he did and submitted the inquiry report on the next day itself.
As per the inquiry report submitted by Jiten, an order given by the DC with regard to mutation case no 315/SDC/Imphal West (S) was kept hidden.
He (Jiten) then conspired with one Khaidem Ningthem to change the ownership of the land to the complainant Priyokanta Khuraijam instead of Biramani.
Jiten also prepared a wrong factsheet without the signature of the authority concerned based on computer operator Sunita Devi changed the names.
Khaidem Ningthem, Sunita Devi and Priyokanta continued to conspire with SK in-charge Jiten and deleted the land record in the name of pattadar Khuraijam Biramani from the system, without the permis sion/order of the authority concerned.
The wrong fact-sheet (no 11099) prepared by Jiten was then uploaded on the NIC system jointly by Ningthem and Sunita Devi.
During the verification of the case, Shamurailatpam Jiten Sharma, Khaidem Ningthem, computer operator Sunita Devi, Luwangthem Priyokanta (35) s/o Dhaka of Nepra Company, an unidentified official of SDC Imphal West (C) and some private individuals were found to be involved, the IO's report conveyed.
After listening to the report, the court remanded Jiten to 5 days in police custody till February 5 for further questioning by the investigating agency.
It further ordered that the IO facilitate medical check-up of the accused every 48 hours either at JNIMS or RIMS.
