People urged to avail scheme benefits

Thanga MLA Tong-bram Robindro distributed LPG connection under Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) 2.0 to 67 beneficiaries during a function held at his Kairenphabi residence in Bishnupur district on Tuesday.
During the distribution event, MLA T Robindro said that there are many families in rural areas of the state who could not afford to have LPG connection and they rely on firewood for cooking.
In view of the harmful effects of using firewood and suffering caused to women, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched PMUY for the first time in 2016.Af ter achieving the target of providing LPG connection to 8 crore women, the same scheme was extended from August 10, 2021 under PMUY 2.0 and the first refill is being provided free of cost apart from LPG connection, he said and appealed to people particularly financially weak families to avail benefits of different welfare schemes launched by the government so that an inclusive development could be brought in the country.
Under the aegis of MLA T Robindro, at least 3,700 beneficiaries of Thanga AC have been provided LPG connection free of cost.
