JCC calls for suspension of TRI activities

Joint Coordinating Committee (JCC) of 13 CSOs and Student Bodies on Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Manipur & its Functioning has called for halting all programmes/activities of TRI, Manipur until the institute is streamlined and genuine demands of the Committee fulfilled.
The Committee comprises All Manipur Tribal Union, All Tribal Indigenous Peoples' Organisation Manipur, All Tribal Disabled Union Manipur, All Tribal Rights Protection Forum Manipur, Federation of All Tribal Youth Club Manipur, Rongmei Naga Youth Organisation Manipur, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur-Imphal Luangrian, All Inpui Naga Students' Union, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur-Ntayphai Luangrian, Rongmei Naga Luphuam-Imphal Luangrian, Rongmei Naga Students' Organisation Manipur, Rongmei Luphuam (Assam, Manipur & Nagaland) and Forest Dwellers' Association.
In a release, JCC convener W Shinglai appealed to the TRI, Manipur to cooperate on the matter, failing which the Committee will be compelled to take action it deemed fit.
The Committee, henceforth, looks forward to cooperation in this regard in the interest of whole tribal populace in particular and Manipur in general, it added.
