Moreh, September 10 2022:
Indo-Myanmar Workers' Forum, Moreh president Ningthoukhong jam Pulindro Singh has appealed to the government authorities to ensure presence of Assistant Settlement Officer (ASO) and Supervisor Kanungo (SK) of the Settlement Department at the Moreh office and ensure they remain in the border town for at least six days in a month.
Deeply concerned over absence of ASO and SK concerned at the Moreh office of the department when process for computerisation of land documents is underway, Pulindro Singh said that land owners in the border town are facing problems in getting signatures of ASO and SK for computerisation of land documents.
He told media persons at Meetei Council Moreh (MCM) here on Saturday that one Amin (Mandal) is currently stationed in Moreh to begin the computerisation process but absence of ASO and SK is creating problem among land owners as their signatures are mandatory for computerisation process.
He further said that the lone Amin cannot bring settlement of land disputes in the border town without the consent of ASO and SK.
He then appealed to authority concerned, chief minister N Biren in particular, to look into the matter and depute ASO and SK for at least six days every month for the convenience of land owners.
