AR units hold ESM rally, awareness progs

Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a recruitment rally awareness camp at Aina in Churachandpur district on Thursday to spread awareness amongst the youth and locals about Assam Rifles Meritorious Sports Person Recruitment Rally 2022.Village authorities and local youth association members attended the event and expressed their gratitude for such informative events, said a PRO IGAR (S) release.
Assam Rifles also conducted an ex-servicemen rally at Pokhara, Nepal on Thursday which was attended by ex-servicemen, veer naris and other dependents.
The rally was presided over by the Director General Assam Rifles Lt Gen Pradeep Chandran Nair and participated by officers from HQ DGAR and Defence Wing of Embassy of India.
A total of 113 grievances were registered during the rally out of which 45 were resolved on the spot.
During the Rally monetary benefits were given to two ESMs.
Former gallantry awardees, war veterans, veer naris, other ladies and disabled ex-servicemen were also felicitated.
The DGAR also interacted with COAS of Nepal Army and discussed various steps and schemes being initiated for the Assam Rifles Ex-Servicemen of Nepal.
On the other-hand, Mantripukhri Battalion conducted a lecture on World Health Day under Assam Rifles' Civic Action Programme at Kangla Siphai village in Imphal East district on Thursday while Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) organised a security coordination meet at Hengkot village in Churachandpur district on Friday.
The later event participated by village authorities and local youths, provided the platform for discussion of various career opportunities for the youth and the need to insulate them from drug menace.
During the meet locals were sensitised and updated on current security situation existing in the area and encouraged to align their efforts towards a common goal of peace and prosperity in the region.
