KSO visits educational institutions

Kpi, April 15 2022:
A team of Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Gunpi block visited various educational institutions within their jurisdiction so as to discuss with school authorities about the new education policy and other issues faced by students.
According to a statement of KSO Guupi block, the team visited educational institutions of both government and private owned as per the decision arrived at during a conclave held on NEP 2020 on March 26 .
During the visit, the student body and school authorities agreed on various issues to be implemented and adhered to by the schools.
It was also agreed to replace the English medium of teaching and communication in Hindi, Manipuri and MIL classes with respective languages namely for Manipuri subject in Meeteilon, for Hindi subject in Hindi language, etc.
It was also agreed that school mother, fully equipped school laboratory, efficient school library and dispensary with minimum requirements should be made mandatory in all full-fledged schools.
Concerning students' scholarship and stipend, every school shall appoint a responsible agent and make sure that all eligible students avail the benefits.
Another understanding reached was that school van drivers should not operate with open doors and every class teacher in all schools must create a WhatsApp group for parents and must report attendance each day.
Educational institutions visited by the student body included St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Zion Coun try School, Christian English Higher Secondary School, Holy Child English High School and Grace English High School.
