Open debating competition on Sept 17

Students' Union of Kangleipak (SUK) would be organising a state level open de bating competition and several other academic activities.
Announcing this during a press meet held at SUK office, Wangkhei, here on Saturday, SUK human resources secretary Gyannagar Nameirakpam informed that the competition will be held on the theme 'Imperfect policy of the government is the reason behind increasing drug issue in Manipur' on September 17 at Maharaj Chandrakirti auditorium, Palace Compound.
The topic has been chosen keeping in mind the increasing drug menace in the state, which would bring down the Manipuri society in the absence of timely and strict intervention.
The top three winners will get cash awards of Rs 30,000, Rs 20,000 and Rs 10,000 respectively along with certificate and memento.
There will be consolation prize for the 4th to 10th position holders and the prizes will be distributed during the SUK foundation day function to be held at MEIPA Studio, Palace Compound on September 18.The Union will also organise a weeklong tree plantation programme under the theme 'Sanghallasi Kangleipak' at the campuses of higher secondary schools affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur from Sunday onwards.
They will also organise a week-long voluntary blood donation programme in association with RIMS Blood Bank, he added.
