Minister Letpao assures Moreh road spruce-up

Youth Affairs and Sports (YAS) minister Letpao Haokip said that he will develop roads and construct bridges in Moreh town ahead of election though the incumbent local MLA could not do so.
Attending the closing ceremony of the 1st Open Badminton Tournament organised by Healthy Youth Badminton Association at NG Molnom village on Monday as the chief guest, Letpao Haokip said that conditions of roads and bridges in Moreh have deteriorated much as none of the 42-Tengnoupal AC MLAs in the past including the incumbent one took up developmental work in Moreh.
Observing that backwardness in the border down could be due to non-execution of the promises made during election time after becoming MLA, he also appealed to students present at the event to keep away from drugs and intoxicants and maintain harmony.
Regarding bad roads and bridges in the border town, the YAS minister said that development of roads and bridges in Moreh would be executed before enforcement of election code of conduct.
The closing ceremony was also attended by former ADC Chandel member Cecilia Chineivah Haokip, Border Trade Chamber of Commerce president V Shekhar and Vaiphei Peoples Council president Jamthang Baite.
In the final match of the badminton tournament played on Monday, HYBA defeated ABA to clinch the title.
