Two KCP (PWG) members arrested

Imphal, January 08 2022:
Teams of Imphal West police commandos arrested two active members of the proscribed Kangleipak Communist Party (People's War Group) from Kiyamgei Shantipur Awang Leikai and in front of MU A-block along with arms on Saturday.
The arrested members have been identified as Wahengbam Mathoi alias Thoi Singh (27) son of late Thaba Singh of Wabagai Tera Pishak but presently residing in Kyamgei Shantipur Awang Leikai and Bhushan Longjam alias Bhushankamal (25) son of L Yama Singh of Nongpok Sekmai but presently staying at Heibok Hostel No 4, Room No 6, MU campus.
Bhusan is informed to be a mass communication student of Manipur University.
According to police, Wahengbam Mathoi was arrested from Kiyamgei Shantipur Awang Leikai and Bhusan Longjam from near MU A-block.
They disclosed that they had demanded and extorted huge amount of money from public, businessmen, government employees, private hospitals, doctors, private construction companies, social workers, etc.
Further they revealed that they are working under the command of self-styled chairman Bajimacha of KCP (PWG).
Three mobile handsets, one 9mm pistol along with one magazine and one 9mm ammunition, two .32 pistols along with two magazines and four .32 live bullets, one Laptop (HP) and one demand letter of KCP were seized from the duo, the police continued.
The arrested members along with the seized items have been handed over to Irilbung police station for further necessary action, it added.
