Imphal, January 08 2022:
With the daily COVID-19 cases showing an upward trend since the last couple of days and the detection of a case of highly infectious Omicron variant, the State Government has imposed new restrictions including night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am.
In an order issued by the Home Department, all shops and commercial establishments have been permitted to open from 10 am to 4 pm while those shops selling fish, poultry products, milk and fresh milk products have been permitted to open from 8 am to 1 pm only.
All shops in Thangal and Paona markets are to open on alternate days.
Shopping malls should limit the number of customers to 50 percent inside the mall and observe Covid Appropriate Behavior strictly.
Eating areas of Hotels or Restaurants should allow and serve only 50 percent of the capacity while Cinema halls/entertainment halls can function with 50 percent capacity.
Gymnasiums and fitness centres are allowed to open from 5 am to 12 noon only.
The order restricted classes in coaching centres and private tuition centres to only online classes.
The order also directed all Central and State Government offices to function at 66 percent physical attendance.
