JD-U eyeing 20 seats: Afaque Ahmad

Janata Dal (United) national general secretary Afaque Ahmad Khan has stated that the party is contesting the polls with the aim of forming a government led by JD(U).
He made the statement during the flag hoisting ceremony of Kshetrigao AC JD(U) candidate Wahengbam Rojit (Bullet) held at Porompat Thawanthaba Leikai on Monday.
Afaque expressed confidence that JD(U) will win over 20 seats in the ensuing polls and the party would take a key role in the formation of the government.
He then said that the party's policy is not to get involved in squabbling of other political parties and asked all concerned who have termed JD(U) as Team-B party, to ascertain whether they or JD(U) is part of the present government.
He continued that the party is contesting the polls with the aim of forming a government led by JD(U).
Any alliance will be considered after the polls, he conveyed, while informing that the party would be releasing its election manifesto soon.
In his speech, Wahengbam Rojit said that JD(U) would be fielding around 40 candidates and over 20 of them would emerge victories.
He then urged the people of Kshetrigao to extend support to him, while assuring of working his hardest for development of the constituency.
