Imphal, February 07 2022:
National People's Party (NPP) candidate from Kshetrigao assembly constituency for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election Sheikh Noorul Hassan has said that the upcoming election will be peaceful, free and fair if the state government officials working for election particularly officials of home department and law enforcing agencies work without any biasness and treat every candidate equally.
Noorul made this statement on the sidelines of filing his nomination paper for the upcoming election at DC office complex, Porompat on Monday.
"There had been report of election related violence in Kshetrigao AC and some vehicles of my workers were damaged but it was my responsibility to pacify the workers and urged them not to be violent and accordingly the violence did not spread," he said.
According to Noorul Hassan, people should be allowed to cast their votes to candidates of their choices and whoever get the maximum votes be elected representatives but making this happen in Kshetrigao AC depends on the present government.
The upcoming election will be peaceful, free and fair if all election related officials work sincerely and do not favour any candidate, he said, adding that he has high hope of winning if the upcoming election is free and fair.
Citing one reason for his chance of winning election, Noorol Hassan said that people of Kshetrigao AC now want a leader who could take up speedy development after witnessing his close coordination of four years and 11 months with people in taking up welfare and development works without any differentiation on the basis of caste and religion.
