Imphal, February 07 2022:
Former BJP member and ex-MLA RK Anand has remarked that BJP is a party whose treatment of the elders is the worst.
On Monday, the former MLA joined Congress in a simple function held at Congress Bhawan here.
Speaking on the occasion, Anand expressed that he feels as if he is returning home after joining the Congress party.
He then said that the then Congress government saw to the removal of AFSPA from 7 assembly segments of the state.
So, CM Biren should stop making claims that peace was restored only during the BJP led government, he added.
He continued: "Congress does not have the culture of disrespect that BJP has.
Members of the BJP including MLAs who are above 70 years of age are rendered to the status of political beggars" .
Anand then challenged the incumbent government on the issues tackled till date by it, while questioning issues related to ILPS and others.
Furthermore, the party ticket was not given based on merit, thus, angering many within the party.
In addition, the government is yet to solve the cases of gun attacks carried out during the time of former VC of MU, AP Pandey.
It was incredibly hard for one to carry out his duties in a democratic manner while remaining in BJP.
Thus, it is the agenda of all to replace the BJP government, he stated.
In his speech, CLP leader O Ibobi remarked that the BJP-led government has no future or any long-term vision.
If this government were to continue for another 5 years, the future of Manipur will be in risk.
People already know whether the double engine government is truly moving forward or backward.
It would be best for BJP to abandon the thought that it could continue to deceive the people.
The upcoming elections in the five states will usher in new positive changes, he assured.
Meanwhile, MPCC president N Loken stated that the lying BJP government would cease to exist in the state on March 10 and Congress would be forming a coalition government by March 19 .
