Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy : PTRC register third win to seal quarter final berth

PTRC, Patsoi joined YUCC in the quarterfinals of the 3rd MNCA U-16 Boys Naorem Rajningthou Memorial Trophy from Group A after thrashing KASC, Khomidok by 139 runs for the third win in four group stage matches at ABA ground, Kshetrigao today.
PTRC who thrashed TRAU by 136 runs in the previous match, were let to bat first.
It was a choppy start for PTRC as they were reduced to 21-2 within 4.2 overs with Rahis Khan of KASC dismissing Lann Naorem and Santosh Sharma Sijagurumayum on ducks but Salam Richie (65 off 59 balls) and Nongdamba Meitei Chingakham (87 not out off 58 balls) set the recovery path and ensured PTRC post a total of 230 runs for 5 in the allotted 30 overs.

KASC's Mohammad Sakif Hussain and Md Sharif Khan also fetched a wicket each.
KASC, however bundled out within 25.1 overs for 91 runs as concerted attacks by PTRC bowlers left their batting line up in tatters. Md Sharif Khan emerged the highest run getter for the Khomidok side in the chase with 28 runs off 50 balls in his name while his team mate Md Rahis Khan settled for 19 runs off 24 balls.
Left arm orthodox bowler, Tamarland (3/11 in 5 overs which contain 2 maidens) and right arm medium pacer Nongdamba Chingakham (3/11 in 4 overs which contain 2 maidens) returned with best bowling figures for PTRC as Salam Richie scalped twice and Malangba and Lamnganba Pheiroijam bagged a wicket each.
Chingakham Nongdamba who sizzled with both the bat and the ball was adjudged man of the match.
In the meantime, RCA, Lilong got a walkover as Model Club did not turn up at Heinoupok ground for the last Group A league match today.
With the result, RCA finished on top of the group table on 6 points and will move into the quarter finals along with AKSDO, Khangabok who have won twice in three group stage matches.
