Single digit TPR reported in state after 22 days

After 22 days, the state recorded single digit daily test positivity rate on Monday with government bulletins reporting 148 new positive cases of Covid 19 out of 1563 samples tested in the last 24 hours registering a positivity rate of 9.47 per cent against 10.01 per cent of Sunday.
Monday also reported three death cases which took the toll to 2066 .
They were residents of Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal districts.
Two of them had received second doses of Covid vaccine and one was unvaccinated.
In the last 24 hours, 272 persons were discharged from home isolation (204), RIMS (22), JNIMS (13) and CCCs (33) as the active cases came down to 3659 out of which 875 (23.91 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 219 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 122 in RIMS but there is no updated information on bed availability in Covid Care Centres.
Out of the 16 districts, five were free from the contagion on Monday.
So far, the state has recorded 9222 positive cases and 64 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.
The Current month has reported 1754 new positive cases and 20 fatalities.
The weekly number of new cases and new fatalities are 1754 and 20 respectively.
According to official reports, all the 148 fresh cases (66 male & 82 female) were from among the general population whose samples were confirmed at RIMS (11), JN1MS (7) and other testing centres (130) .
The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (33), Imphal West (61), Thoubal (13), Bishnupur (14), Kakching (10), Kangpokpi (4), Tengnoupal (2), Ukhrul (3), Noney (1), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (6) .
The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 1,35,010 (general population - 1,30,032 and CAPF personnel - 4,978) .
Number of recovered cases is 1,29,285 (general population - 1,24,427 and CAPF personnel - 4,858) and number of active cases is 3659 (general population - 3546 and CAPF personnel - 113) .
The recovery rate rose to 95.76 per cent.
A total of 225 D-type and 82 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours.
Whereas, 5544 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and it took the cumulative number of vaccinated persons to 14,60,108 out of which 10,74,129 had received second doses and 39,960 had precautionary doses.
As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48,009), Imphal East (29,970), Thoubal (10,000), Churachandpur (10,943), Kangpokpi (3080), Tamenglong (3405), Bishnupur (9649), Senapati (2433), Ukhrul (3171), Kakching (6777), Chandel (2662), Noney (1135), Tengnoupal (1174), Jiribam (1109), Kamjong (1028), and Pherzawl (465) .
Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (69l), Imphal East (495), Thoubal (183), Churachandpur (166), Kangpokpi (65), Tamenglong (15), Bishnupur (199), Senapati (ll), Ukhrul (48), Kakching (120), Chandel (42), Noney (5), Tengnoupal (14), Jiribam (7), Kamjong (5), and Pherzawl (0) .
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 43,510 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,158 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 4,96,686 tests per million population against the national average of 5,29,052 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.53 per cent.
In the past 24 hours, only 1563 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 9.47 per cent while the cumulative positivity stands at 8.76 per cent.
