Imphal, January 27 2022:
Democratic Students' Alliance of Mani-pur (DESAM) has urged educational institutions which charged form fill up fees for class X, XI and XII examinations more than the amount fixed by board and council to immediately stop charging the same or refund the extra amount if taken already.
According to a DESAM statement, parents of students who are to appear in the class X, XI and XII examinations have put their hands on heads after educational institutions issued notification for examination form submission with fees more than the amount fixed by board/council.
As per the notification issued by BSEM, total amount to be submitted by a student at the time of form submission is Rs 2,400 which include Rs 1,400 for examination fee, Rs 400 for mark sheet fee and Rs 600 for centre fee.
However, some schools are charging more than the actual amount and such activity must be stopped immediately, it said.
As per fee structure of COHSEM, form fill up fee for class XI student is Rs 1200 and maximum of Rs 1400 could be charged if the student opts for four subjects having practical courses at the rate of Rs 50 for each subject.
However, some schools charged more than the maximum amount, DE-SAM said and appealed to schools which already charged in excess to refund the same to students immediately.
In respect of class XII, the fee structure of BSEM says that total amount to be paid by one student at the time of form submission is Rs 2500 which include Rs 150 for form rate, Rs 1400 for examination fee, Rs 400 for original mark sheet fee and Rs 550 as centre fee.
If a student opts three subjects having practical course, the total amount comes to Rs 3250 and Rs 3500 if the student happens to opt four practical subjects.
However, some schools and aided colleges offering class XI and XII classes are charging more than Rs 4000 and even more than Rs 5000 by some schools/colleges, DESAM said, and appealed to schools and colleges concerned to refund the additional amount and stop charging unreasonable fees without further delay.
While informing that several parents and stu-dents have made complaints in this regard to the student's body, DESAM warned of taking action in the interest of students if any further complaint in this regard comes against any school/college.
