JD-U popular without even any MLA: Tunzamang

Janata Dal (United) does not have any MLA in the assembly at present but the party is popular among peo-ple of the state and the recent mega rally participated by more than 20,000 people proved it, claimed P Tunzamang.
Tunzamang is the chair-man of election committee for JD(U) Manipur president T Hangkhanpau, who is contest-ing from 60-Singhat assembly constituency in the upcoming 12th Manipur Legislative As-sembly election.
Addressing a gathering at the Zou Presbyterian Church Synod (ZPCS) building, Maukot village on Thursday, P Tunzamang said that games and sports are not only good for health but could also be taken up as a profession if one pursues with utmost sin-cerity.
Sportsperson can also earn good income, he added.
On land issues, Tunzamang said that tribals are in a deplor-able condition and immediate attention is needed to save tribal lands or else days are not far when they would be pushed to the margin.
All the candidates for the upcoming elections in respect of Singhat AC are from ZPCS Church denomination but the only candidate who can take care of people and has the guts to stand up for tribal issues is T Hangkhanpau, he said, adding that JD-U is not having any MLA in the state so far but the party is very popular in the state and participation of more than 20,000 people in a mega rally recently proved it.
