Imphal West DC reviews election process

Imphal, January 27 2022:
Ahead of the 12th Manipur legislative assembly elections, scheduled to be held on February 27 and March 3, district election officer/DC Imphal West Th Kirankumar on Wednesday convened a meeting to facilitate and ensure smooth conduct of the election in respect of Imphal West district.
The meeting held at Yum and Hills Cottage, Luwangshangbam, deliberated on the security arrangements, communication & coordination plan, accommodation and other welfare facilities for the observers.
The officials present at the meeting also minutely discussed Covid-related planning to counter the spike in coronavirus cases as election campaign picks up.
Speaking during the meeting, DC Th Kiran-kumar instructed all the officials on election duty to remain alert and coordinate among each other in order to prevent any untoward incidents which could hamper the smooth conduct of free and fair election in the district.
He also asked the officials to work diligently and maximise their efforts in discharge of duty so as to create a competitive working environment.
Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, Ksh Shivakanta Singh, while interacting with the officials, stressed on the importance of Covid booster dose for frontline workers, and also advised all the police officers and police per-sonnel to take Covid booster dose at the earliest.
The meeting was attended by police officers of Imphal West District, ROs and AROs of the district, district nodal officers, officers and staff of the Imphal West district administration.
