Tackling of Covid-19 stressed at district-level R-Day

As in other parts of the country and abroad, Manipur too celebrated 73rd Republic Day at the state level and in the districts on Wednesday.
Led by the district administration, Kangpokpi celebrated Republic Day at the district headquarters with DC Kengoo Zuringla unfurling the Tricolour and taking salute from a police contingent led by Gamnom Saparmeina Police Station DSP L Sheimang Khongsai.
Presentation of certificate of appreciation to 27 government employees for their outstanding performance in their respective fields marked the occasion.
As part of the celebration Nepali cultural dance was performed by Kalapahar High School students.
The programme was also attended by SP Amrita Sinha, DLOs, JNV students, police officers, officials and employees of various departments and CSO leaders of the district.
KAKCHING: The 73rd Republic Day was celebrated at DC office Complex here with deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam unfurling the National flag and taking salute from march past contingents consisting of district
police, VDF and 37 Assam Rifles Band commanded by SDPO Konjengbam Geetchandra Singh.
Addressing the gathering, Somorjit said that the day is a very proud day for the nation and stressed on the importance of strictly adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) laid down by the government to contain Covid-19 .
Amongst the new districts, Kakching is progressing fast and marching forward, he said and urged all to work for a peaceful, prosperous and developed Manipur.
Altogether, 66 civilians and police personnel were presented Certificate of Appreciation by the chief guest during the celebration that concluded with additional DC Adahrii Maheo proposing the vote of thanks.
CHURACHANDPUR: The district administration celebrated the 73rd Republic Day at Tuibong Peace Ground, Churachandpur on Thursday.
Additional DC Yumnam Nelson unfurled the Tricolour and took salute from six march past contingents led by Churachandpur SDPO Priscilla Tuboi.
Speaking on the occasion as chief guest, Nelson applauded the frontline workers, doctors, nurses, police, ASHAs, different CSOs, PHED, MSPDCL, local
bodies and all involved in the fight against Covid-19 .
He urged all government departments and the people of the district to join hands and make Churachandpur the best district in the state.
Presentation of Certificate of Appreciation and awards to 106 outstanding government employees and march past contingents and performance of cultural items marked the celebration.
Dignitaries attending the event included SP Shivanand Surve, DLOs and CSO leaders.
BISHNUPUR: District administration of Bishnupur celebrated the 73rd Republic Day at Mini Secretariat complex in Bishnupur during which DC L Bikram unfurled the national flag and took salute from civil police contingent commanded by sub-inspector Phaomei Dijuaichung.
Appreciation certificates for distinguished services were presented to 107 officials and staff of the district during the celebration.
Addressing the gathering, L Bikram conveyed his gratitude to frontline workers, health workers, COVID Task Forces, district police, DLOs, executive officers of Municipal Councils and officials and staff of various Line Departments for their tireless efforts in combating COVID-19 .
He also stated that precautionary dose will be administered to frontline workers, 60-year plus citizens with co-morbidities, police, polling personnel and other personnel on poll duty.
Bikram also expressed that the district needs to do more to achieve 100 percent vaccination for 1st dose and 70 per cent for second dose before February 10 in view of the upcoming state assembly election.
Stating that active COVID cases in the district presently stands at 94, the DC appealed to the public to get vaccinated as soon as possible and follow Covid Appropriate Behaviour at all times to fight the pandemic.
The DC further informed that instructions have been received from Election Commission of India (ECI) that no polling personnel, polling agent and counting agent
shall be allowed inside polling stations or counting hall without double dose vaccination.
CHANDEL: The 73rd Republic Day celebration held at Chandel Mini secretariat, DC complex was marked by march past, parade inspection and unfurling of the Nation Flag with Rashtriya salute by DC Mayanglambam
Rajkumar.
Due to COVID-19 pandemic, however the number of march-past contingents for this year was limited to active service personnel only under the command of CL Thotrething.
Speaking on the occasion,
DC Rajkumar informed that nation building is not only about infrastructure development but also human resource development.
Speaking about the present Covid pandemic, he said that vaccination is the only
way to defeat the pandemic and urged the people of the district to stop vaccine hesitation and get vaccinated as soon as possible.
During his speech he praised the women of the district for their active
participation in the district administration in different fields.
As part of the function, the district administration felicitated, officers/officials and security personnel by awarding Certificate of honour.
Special mention can be made, that four lady officials from different departments who served as polling officers in the last election were also felicitated as an encouragement and recognition of their service.
Besides, Thumli Jeyshing Monsang, who is the first person to become a National Football Referee from Chandel was also felicitated.
The event was also attended by SP Chandel, CO 8MR, CO 18AR, DLOs, staff and general public of the district.
