Imphal, July 16 2022:
Refuting the allegation levelled by an RTI activist Wahengbam Joykumar Singh against MSPCL in a press meet held on Saturday, Power Engineers Services Association (PESA), MSPCL, has dismissed the charges as misleading and malicious.
In a release, PESA appealed to all RTI applicants to be very specific about the name of the works as mentioned in the DPR/LOA while seeking information in order facilitate furnishing of correct information as per available records to the satisfaction of the applicant.
In the present case, MSPCL received an RTI application from Joykumar on May 23 seeking information on installation of 33/11 KV lined tapped at Khongnangpaisabi village from the existing 33 KV New Chajong-Joupi Line constructed under Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana (RGGVY) along with erection of 33 KV feeders from Powergrid to Yurembam sub-station (state) and the associated 33 KV bays, it added.
PESA clarified that MSPCL did not take up the said works.
Hence, it forwarded the RTI reply on June 22 to the applicant via post which was received by him on June 25, informing that no such works were taken up by the Company.
The information sought by W Joykumar on the name of works does not match any of the works executed so far.
Moreover, since some works taken up by the MSPCL in stated areas consist of multiple similar works, submission of wrong/incorrect information can be misleading to the public, it emphasised.
The release further asserted that MSPCL is ever ready to furnish all relevant information sought in regard to the actual works taken up.
