NE Women's League: Meghalaya pip Mizoram; Sikkim, Assam split points

Meghalaya Leopards came from behind to edge past Mizoram Black Bears 2-1 while Sikkim Pandas and Assam Rhinos shared spoils in the 1st North East Women's Football League 2022 on Saturday.
Meghalaya fell behind when Zonuntluangi scored for Mizoram in the 14th minute.
The Leopards, however, put themselves on level terms after Nisilia Majaw buried the ball in the back of the net in the 25th minute.
Then an intense battle for the lead ensued and that back-and-forth exchanges continued till the final minutes of stoppage time.
And just when it look like the game would end in a 1-1 draw, Meghalaya sprang a surprise with Sunalinda slotting home the decider seconds before the final whistle was blown by the referee.
Later in the day, Assam and Sikkim played out a 1-1 draw as Naocha put the latter ahead in the 31st minute before the former equalised in the 68th minute through Sonia Marak for the eventual result.
