KVK offices celebrate ICAR foundation day

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Ukhrul district, Indian Council for Agricultural Research, Manipur Centre participated in the nationwide celebration of the 94th ICAR Foundation Day on Saturday along with webcasting of Interaction of Union Agriculture Minister with DFI Farmers and Award Ceremony.
In a release, ICAR-KVK, Ukhrul informed that the programme commenced with a welcome address by KVK Ukhrul SMS (Soil Sc.) PA Ramsem followed by deliberation on the Doubling Farmers Income (DFI) programme of 112 farmers of KVK-Ukhrul District by KVK Ukhrul Head in charge Dr N Ajitkumar Singh and webcasting the virtual interaction of Union agriculture minister Narendra Singh Tomar with DFI farmers and awardees, Kaziphung SHG Federation chairperson Chuthaola was chief guest of the function wherein Farmers-Scientist interaction programme with the SMSs of ICAR-KVK Ukhrul was also held with the participation of 120 farmers.
Celebration of the ICAR Foundation Day cum Interaction with Union Minister and farmers (DFI) was also held at the training hall of Krishan Vigyan Kendra, Churachandpur.
The programme was organised by ICAR-KVK, Ccpur and attended as chief guest by T Khaikhomang, MDC Lanva constituency, inspector of Sericulture Department Ru-wung Thun as guest of honour and ICAR, KVK, Ccpur head L Somendro Singh as president.
About 200 farmers from different parts of the district participated in the celebration which was marked by online video conferencing between DFI achieved farmers with Union minister of agriculture.
KVK Churachandpur also informed that about 75,000 DFI farmers across the country were felicitated for their tremendous achievement and contribution towards Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self Sufficient India).
In the context to ICAR-KVK Churachandpur, a total of 112 DFI members were registered and published.
A draw of lots was also organised as part of the celebration in which two lucky participants were awarded with hand pump sprayer.
As in other parts of country, celebration of 94th foundation day of ICAR along with virtual interaction of Union agriculture minister Naren dra Singh Tomar with farmers who have achieved DFI was at the conference hall of Rice Research Centre Wangbal, Thoubal district with deputy commissioner Ahanthem Subash, Khangabok Part-1 Gram Panchayat pradhan Ningthoujam Mala Devi, Rice Research Station rice breeder N Kumar Singh and KVK Thoubal head senior scientist Dr S Zeshmarani attending as presidium members.
As part of the function, 144 farmers of the district who have achieved double income interacted with Union agriculture minister.
The 94th foundation day of Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) council cum interaction of union Agriculture minister with Double Farmer Income farmers was also conducted at ICAR-KVK Chandel Conference Hall on Saturday.
The programme was attended by Monsangpantha village chief Ng Vinson, women society secretary Sh Roselyn and KVK Chandel head in-charge Dr Ameeta Devi as presidium members.
In the online interaction programme, minister Tomar released 75,000 success stories of farmers.
The programme was attended by 105 Double Farmer Income farmers from Chandel District and staff of KVK Chandel.
