1st North East Women's Football League : Meghalaya Leopards edge past Mizoram Black Bears 2-1

Meghalaya Leopards posted second win in the 1st North East Women's Football Tournament as they edged past Mizoram Black Bears 2-1 today in the 19th match of the tourney here at SAI ground, Takyel.
Having won 6-1 against Assam Rhinos in their opening match, Meghalaya Leopards's search for another win came to fruition today as Sunalinda scored a last gasp goal during the stoppage time (80+3') .
Meghalaya and Mizoram women were neck and neck from the beginning today and shared almost equal possession and scoring chances.
Mizoram side who are yet to open their winning account were first to open the scoring after 14 minutes with Zonuntluangi finding the target.
However Nisilia Majaw cancelled out the lead for Meghalaya Leopards in the 25th minute with a clinical finish to make it 1-1 till the break.
It was an end to end affair and the game looked to end in a draw but Mizoram Black Bears were made to wait for their first point as Sunalinda scored the winner three minutes into the stoppage time.
Later in the day, Assam Rhinos fought back from a goal down to salvage a 1-1 draw with Sikkim Pandas.
Naocha's goal in the 31st minute helped Sikkim Pandas enjoy a 1-0 lead for major portion of the game but Sonia Marak hit the equaliser for Assam Rhinos in the 68th minute to keep the competition wide open again.
The two sides toiled hard to find the difference maker but lack of finishing touch forced the two sides to share the spoils.
