LDA Chairman assesses site at Keibul Lamjao for Sangai Festival 2022

A team of officials led by Moirangthem Asnikumar Singh, Chairman, Loktak Development Authority (LDA) visited the area around Keibul Lamjao today in a follow up to assess the feasibility of developing some infrastructure under the Ethnic and Heritage Village complex as part of the upcoming Sangai Festival 2022 .
Notably, the team consisted of senior officials of Manipur Police Housing Cooperation Ltd (emolument agency of the project) and representatives of Huidrom Design, which is the consulting firm for the proposed project, a statement has informed.
During the visit, the Chairman suggested the official team to prepare a report for creation of long term sustainable project for Keibul Lamjao village to be developed as a Heritage or Ethnic or eco-village in consideration of the huge contribution and participation of the local community in the preservation of Keibul Lamjao National Park and the protection of Sangai since 1977 .

Moirangthem Asnikumar Singh also added that the project can showcase the local heritage, culture and local cuisine to the rest of the world and hence become a role model project.
It will also contribute towards employment generation and other opportunities, specially for the younger generation, he opined.
The Chairman lastly conveyed his sincere gratitude to Chief Minister N Biren Singh for his due consideration and for acknowledging the aspirations of the people of Keibul Lamjao area.
