Presided over by Sahitya Akademi awardee Yumlembam Ibomcha, the book release function was attended by eminent litterateur Iboton as chief guest and Manipur University School of Humanities head Prof Nahakpam Aruna as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Moirangthem Priyobrata, who is also the principal of Imphal College, informed that after writing pieces for Radio plays, films, and anthology of poems, 'Ngangranaba Numidang' is his first novel.
A writer comes up with a story based on social experiences and as such these works are often regarded as the mirror of the society.
Thus, 'Ngangranaba Numidang' is based on the conservative thinking and wishes carried by humans when they reach old age, which often times clash with that of the youth and emphasises the strong need for social discipline, he added.
