Poshan Maah launched in Kamjong, Noney districts

As a part of Poshan Abhiyan -- PM's Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourish ment, Rashtriya Poshan Maah programme was launched on Thursday at community hall of Riha village under Phungyar sub-division in Kamjong district.
The launch programme organised by ICDS Cell, Social Welfare of Kamjong was attended by deputy commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter as chief guest, CMO Dr Lucy Duidang and ZEO L Naba kumar as guests of honour while Riha village headman Wungang Mahung was the functional president.
In his speech, Rangnamei appreciated the initiative of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government for carrying out the massive programme all over the country to focus on health and nutrition of children, women and adolescent girls.
He appealed to all to observe this programme dutifully and to perform the activities included under Poshan Maah properly.
He also urged the officials concerned and Anganwadi workers/helpers to ensure maximum reach of the benefits of this programme.
On the other-hand, CMO Dr Lucy made a detailed deliberation on nutrition among children (0-6 years); pregnant women, lactating mothers and adolescent girls.
A rally participated by dig-nitaries and many women was also held as a part of the programme.
NONEY: The launch programme of Rashtriya Poshan Maah (National Nutrition Month) jointly organised by Noney district administration and District Programme Officer of ICDS Cell Noney was held on Friday at Multipurpose Hall of Longmai Part-3, Noney town.
The programme was attended by NVBDCP Noney DPO Dr Gairanlung Thaimei, additional SP (Law & Order) Peter Namsadai Pamei and Noney ICDS Cell district programme officer A Satyabati Devi as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.
As a part of the programme, a rally was taken out by Anganwadi workers & helpers, ASHAs, district level officers and other health care workers.
Special Aadhaar enrolment drive for below 6 years was also conducted by the officials concerned.
Speaking to media persons, Satyabati informed that various activities will be carried out during the month-long observance.
Awareness and lecture programme on Nutritive food and kitchen garden with main focus on children and pregnant women will be held in every block of the district so that malnutrition is eradicated and social well-being ensured.
Sanitation and tree plantation drive will also be carried out in the month-long programme.
Friday's programme was moderated by ICDS Cell Nungba supervisor Alunem Thaimei.
