RK Ranjan puts case before NEFR

Union Minister of State for Education and External Affairs Dr Rajkumar Ranjan has urged the North East Frontier Railway to establish a Specialised Centre of Excellence for Tunnelling or Earth Sciences in Imphal in the lines with Gati-Shakti University.
Dr Ranjan participated in the meeting of Members of Parliament representing areas served by North East Frontier Railways in Guwahati, today.
During the meeting, Dr Ranjan thanked the Railway Ministry for extending rail connection between Manipur and Tripura through Jan Shatabdi Express and said that the proposed railway station at Imphal will be a world class infrastructure.
He requested the North East Frontier Railway to donate some old railway wagons /containers to popular tourist spots in the North East region for conversion as tea shops/restaurants.
Saying that the railway line in Manipur has bifurcated Phaiton near Jiribam, He called on the Railway officials to establish a foot over bridge to connect the two sections of the village.
Dr Ranjan further appealed to the Railway officials to examine the alignment of the proposed railway line between Kotlien and Imphal valley.
