Three from state held in Nagaland with ganja

Three people from Manipur were arrested by Nagaland police on Thursday for transporting marijuana (ganja) .
Police said that around 9 pm Friday, personnel of Nagaland police Narcotics Cell mobile unit, who were performing routine frisking and checking on NH-2, intercepted a Dimapur-bound vehicle (Renault Duster) near Viswema Y-Junction of Kohima- Pfutsero- Imphal road, which was coming from Imphal.
According to the police, a thorough search of the vehicle led to recovery of 200 kg of suspected marijuana wrapped in black polythene.
Accordingly, three occupants of the vehicle identified as Anion Raingam (52), Ng Masotmi (42) and Holichan Shinglai (53) were arrested and the contraband item along with the vehicle seized.
All the arrested people are from Ukhrul district, according to the police.
A case under NDPS Act has been registered at Narcotics Cell Police Station for further investigation, the police added.
