PTFC continues awareness drive

The People's Task Force for COVID-19 volunteers as a part of its continued COVID awareness drive today conducted awareness drive at Sagolband Tera Bazar to Waheng Leikai stretch and from there to the Imphal College.
According to a release, during the awareness drive, people were seen buying and selling goods without following the SOP.
Vendors were seen crowded by people without following physical distancing norms while people rushed to buy what they wanted.
People are still not taking the pandemic seriously, seeing the way people are behaving the number of infections will keep increasing in the localities and villages, said PTFC-19.The volunteers made the people understand the SOP to prevent COVID-19 infection.
They also appealed to the people to wear masks properly and maintain physical distance while buying goods as well as while meeting people to maintain a distance of at least 4 to 6 feet.
They appealed to the shopkeepers to keep hand sanitizers at the entrances of their shops and also not to allow people to enter the shop to avoid crowding.
The volunteers, when they reached Imphal College, found students not wearing masks properly and also not maintaining physical distance while correcting admit cards and submitting forms at the college.
The PTFC-19 volunteers along with the college authority made the students follow the SOP.
Peoples' Task Force For COVID-19, Indian Red Cross Society Manipur State Branch, Indian Medical Association, Association for Health Care Providers of India have been jointly conducting awareness programmes at villages and localities.
Today, an awareness programme was held at Langol Laimanai Community Hall with the support of Laimanai Village Development Committee and Laimanai Youth Development Organisation.
Dr Mohen, chairman, IRCS Manipur State branch; O Ratan, secretary, IRCS Imphal West branch; Dr Lalthari Hmar, Additional Director, Directorate of Public Health; Dr Ngangom Arun secretary, IMA; N Bimol co-convenor, PFC-19 and RK Sanayaima, president, Laimanai Village Development Committee attended the programme as resource persons.
