Rohingya woman handed over to Myanmar authority

After completing her jail term, a Rohingya woman has been handed over to the Myanmar authority today through the Integrated Check Post at Moreh.
The woman has been identified as Sanowra Begum (20) wife of Ayat Ullah of Maungdaw Rakhine State.
She was arrested by the police in Tripura in September 2017 after she entered India from Bangladesh at Tripura without any valid documents.
She was sent to Tripura Central jail for 6 months and after completing her jail term, she was lodged at a protection home for another three months.
A team of Tripura police today delivered her at the Integrated Check Post at Moreh and after completing paperwork she was handed over to Myanmar authorities at the Indo-Myanmar Friendship bridge.
The handover was done in the presence of Senior Immigration Officer Krishna Anand, ASP (Ops) M Amit, and Assam Rifles and Land Custom Staff.
