TSE scribe in line for communal harmony award

TSE scribe Sapam Aruna has been nominated for the Chingsubam Akaba Memorial Journalist Award 2013-14 in the category of Reporter Award for Promotion of Manipur Integration and Communal Harmony.
In a press conference held at the Wahengbam Leikai office of 'Pandam' eveninger, 'Pandam' Executive Editor N Tomba said that the award has been instituted in memory of Chingsubam Akaba, who sacrificed his life in the service of the people.
He added that the award would be given in two categories - Editor Award for Development of Manipuri Language and Script and Reporter Award for Promotion of Manipur Integration and Communal Award.
'Hueiyen Lanpao' Editor Hemanta Kumar Ningomba has been nominated for the Editor's award.

The awards will be distributed at the 70th Birth Anniversary cum 'Pandam' Foundation Day celebration to be held at Hongman Tangkhul village in Senapati district on November 9 .
Editor's Award carries Rs 20,000, a citation and a certificate while Reporter's Award comprises of Rs 15,000, a citation and a certificate.
The cash prize for Editor's Award is donated by Agriculture Director Ph Rajendro, Tomba said.
Apart from producing a special edition of 'Pandam', a Meetei calendar would also be released on the day, he added.
N Tomba said that Chingsubam Akaba established 'Pandam' in 1980 as the Editor.
