BJYM meets Rijiju

Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha, Manipur Pradesh submitted a memorandum to Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju urging him to immediately take effective and appropriate measures to permanently tackle the frequent racial attacks on North East people, who are residing in Delhi.
A BJYM Manipur Pradesh team comprising of BJYM president O Malesh, BJYM vice-president Y Gojendro (Gopi) and BJYM vice-president Kh Basanta met the Union Minister in his office chamber at North Block, New Delhi at around 12.30 pm on November 3, said a press release.
In a discussion which lasted around 40 minutes, the Minister assured the team that the Government would look into the proposals made by them.
The Minister told the delegation that necessary steps have already been initiated to prevent further attacks on North East people.
Among other points, the memorandum suggested the Minister to induct more people from North East States to Delhi Police, set up a separate/special police station to deal with crimes against North East people and create better awareness of the North East among the people of India.
