Imphal, May 29 2022:
The Social Youth Development Organisation Phougakchao Ikhai (SYDOP) has said that 'Myanmar National' Dr Mark Thangmang Haokip should no longer be allowed to stay in Manipur as he allegedly made an effort to destroy the unity and integrity of the State.
A press release issued by SYDOP claimed that Dr Mark Haokip is not only a Myanmar National but also responsible for bringing in many foreign Nationals to the State illegally.
"He (Dr Mark Haokip) should not be allowed to stay in Manipur as he tried to break the State into pieces," SYDOP demanded and urged all to refrain from indulging in activities which may dent the hill-valley relation.
"It was also Dr Mark Haokip and his associates who tried to abolish several sacred sites in Manipur," the organisation claimed and urged both the Centre and the State Government to take befitting actions against him.
Another association - Lamthabung Area Voluntary Association (LAVA) condemned Dr Mark Haokip for allegedly striving to create enmity among the indigenous people of Manipur.
The association also accused him (Dr Mark Haokip) of attempting to spoil several important places associated with Manipur history.
Claiming that some section of people who entered Manipur illegally have been suppressing the voice of several Kukis/Thadous who believe in coexistence, LAVA urged the Centre and State Government to look into the matter with utmost seriousness so as to prevent misunderstanding and conflict among the indigenous people.
The association also condemned the social media threat which picked out Chief Minister N Biren Singh as target.
