Committee formed in light of encroachment claim

Bishnupur, May 29 2022:
A public meeting was held today at Loijing Loyalakpa Mayangamba community hall under Bishnupur Municipal Council Ward No 6 and a committee was subsequently formed in connection with the alleged claim of illegal encroachment occuring in the areas surrounding Vishnu temple in Bishnupur.
It may be noted that the Vishnu Temple was one of the five monuments selected by the Archaeological Survey of India to be protected.
Following this selection, allegations were made of illegal encroachment within the surrounding 300 metres of the temple.
An individual by the name of Mangi who participated in the public meeting condemned the act of painting simple residents of the area as land encroachers.
He stated that locals of the area had been preserving the temple and urged the relevant authority to not cause any inconveniences to the residents of the area.
He also expressed the desire for cooperation between the newly formed committee and the government authorities in preserving and renovating the temple.
The public meeting was also attended by many residents of Bishnupur Municipal Council Ward No 5 and 6 .
