CPI demands farmers' complex in Konthoujam

Konthoujam Local Council CPI celebrated its 53rd conference at the hall of Komang Lanholjam Farming Cooperative on Sunday.
The conference also unanimously resolved to demand for development of a complex in Konthoujam dedicated to farmers of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Communist Party of India-Manipur State Council (CPI-MSC) secretary L Sotinkumar remarked that both Konthoujam constituency and Nambol area are the provenance of Hijam Irabot and CPI.
As such, the people want CPI to be leaders of the land, he added.
During the conference, other speakers condemned the NDA government at the centre and the BJP-led government in the state for privatising public sector units such as banks, railways, airport and factories, and thus, demanded PM Modi to stop all privatisation processes immediately.
Later, 21-member local pouncil was selected along with election of Dr Kh Thoiba as local secretary.
