Murder of young girl: Three accused picked up

Thoubal, December 28 2021:
Three persons including one individual allegedly involved in the killing of Korimayum Nargish have been arrested by Thoubal police today.
The young girl was found dead on the bank of Imphal River near the bridge which connects Lilong to Samurou on December 27 .
The arrested persons include the main accused Chesam Sirajur Rahman (27), s/o Chesam Siraj Ahmed, his brother Chesam Musa (21) and sister Chesam Mastura (23) of Lilong Haoreibi Makha Leikai Konjil.
Producing the arrested individuals before the media, Thoubal SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam said K Ahmed Ali, father of the victim, had lodged a missing person report at Lilong Police Station on December 23 .

The police had started searching for the missing girl right away and the dead body was discovered on the morning of December 27 on the bank of the river near Thambal Academy English School.
He told the media that Lilong Police Station has registered an FIR in connection with the case.
During the course of investigation, the police have gathered enough evidence and information and it is beyond doubt that they committed the crime.
All due legal proceedings will be taken up against them to charge them of the crime, he told the press.
SP Jogeshchandra also appealed the public to maintain peace and let the law take its course.
Meanwhile, angry mobs of the area burnt down the house belonging to the main accused Chesam Sirajur Rahman today.
Arhad Ali, convenor of JAC lauded the Government and the police for acting swiftly and apprehending the alleged culprits.
He also appealed the Govt to arrest and punish everyone involved in the crime.
