MLA Khashim announces new PHC for Peh village

In what brought a big smile on the face of the poor villagers of Peh, Chingai MLA Khashim Vashum broke the news of an upcoming Primary Health Centre in the village.
He made the announcement during the inaugural ceremony of Peh Martyrs' Memorial Trophy 2021 on Monday.
He said that the order for construction of the new PHC came out on December 18 following the Cabinet approval on November 24 .
"A new PHC will be coming up here and for this, two medical officers (MOs) and three nurses would be provided," he assured amid thunderous applause.
He then handed over a copy of the order to the village development committee.
He informed that the upcoming healthcare facility is the only one allotted to Ukhrul district and is among the 12 such projects approved for different districts in the state.
The MLA said that he ac -corded priority to the water shortage problem being faced by the poor villagers, and added that he has forwarded a proposal for a water project under JIM to alleviate the water stress in the village.
He went on to assure the villagers of constructing the inter-village link road between Peh and Chingjui at the earliest.
He said that efforts are on to include the road in the PMGSY scheme.
On the occasion, MLA Khashim also distributed Old Age Pension cards to 14 beneficiaries and Care Giver Allowance cards for persons with disabilities to 10 persons.
On his return journey, the NPF legislator had stopovers at Paorei and Phungcham villages where he was accorded warm welcome.
In the two villages, MLA Khashim held a brief interaction with the executives of the respective NPF village units and the local villagers.
