Talui village pledges support to Sword Vashum

Talui village under Ukhrul district's Chingai assembly constituency resolved to give its collective support to Sword Vashum in the ensuing 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly elections.
The decision to this effect was unanimously taken by the Talui Village Authority (TVA) and frontal organisations during a joint meeting on December 20.Vashum who hails from the largest village in Western Ukhrul, recently declared his intention to contest the polls on Congress party ticket from Chingai AG.
The TVA and Talui Reisang Youth Club, Talui Katamnao Long and Talui Shanao Long unanimously resolved to support the native intending candidate in the coming elections, according to a statement issued by Talui village headman S Akhai.
Following minute deliberations, the villagers decided to give their collective mandate to the local intending candidate, it said.
The Village Authority and the village frontal organisations called for all Talui natives to rise above their self-interest and support Vashum in one accord.
Meanwhile, the Manipur Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee (MPMCC) and Ukhrul District Mahila Congress Committee of 45-Chingai block held a joint interactive meet at the residence of its intending candidate Sword Vashum in Talui village on Monday.
Coinciding with the festive season, the interaction was organised ostensibly to show support for Sword Vashum in the coming elections.
The members of the Mahila Congress also exchanged festisve gifts to foster unity among the members during the interaction session.
The MPMCC team was led by its president Mutum Sharma, vice president Shamshad Begum, general secretaries Rk Tamphasana Devi and Cosmic Jajo and social media in-charge Alfred Huin-ingshumbam Angom.
