2 found dead, one suspect whacked

An 18 year old girl has been found dead in Thoubal district and a boy who is said to be acquainted with the girl was thrashed by a group of people on the ground that he was allegedly involved in the killing of the girl.
On the other hand, a 75 year old man was found dead inside Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba this morning.
Athokpam Bina (18) d/o Biren of Serou Makha Leikai was found dead at a bushy area of Thingkhanphai village on the bank of Manipur river at around 10 am today, informed a police source.
Bina left home at around noon yesterday and she was missing since then.
As injury marks were seen on her neck, it was suspected that she was strangulated.
In the meantime, Naorem Narendra (21) s/o Inaoyaima of Khongjom Patpal who is said to be acquainted with the girl arrived at the spot where the girl was found dead.
However, people gathered at the spot turned to Narendra and they started thrashing him but police intervened and took Narendra to Sugnu CHC.
Again, people raised an uproar at Sugnu prompting police to fire several rounds of tear gas shells and they brought Narendra to RIMS for treatment.
It is said that Narendra and the deceased girl had eloped earlier and their date of marriage was been already fixed.
He is an excavator operator by profession and he was staying at the owner's home at Serou.
Meanwhile, a joint action committee has been constituted against the killing of Bina.
Soon after the JAC was constituted, a large group of people was heading towards Narendra's home at Khongjom Patpal but they were blocked by police at Kakching.
Police have picked up and deposited Bina's body at JNIMS morgue.
Before the body was picked up, a team of Forensic Science Laboratory inspected the crime scene in presence of a Magistrate.
A case has been registered at Sugnu P/S .
On the other hand, one Moirangthem Ibohal (75) of Khurai Puthiba Leikai was found dead inside Khoyathong Pukhri Achouba at around 10 this morning.
He left home last Wednesday and he could not be traced since then.
The corpse has been handed over to family members after post mortem at RIMS.
