Ukhrul celebrates 75th Independence Day

Ukhrul, August 16 2022:
Ukhrul District Administration joined the rest of the country in celebrating the 75th Independence Day with deputy commissioner Ukhrul Krishna Kumar attending as chief guest of the function held at Bakshi Ground, Hungpung on Monday.
DC Krishna Kumar took the general salute and inspected the parade contingents in the presence of all DLOs, government employees and the public.
He also hoisted the National Flag amid singing of the National Anthem.
The DC also handed over appreciation certificates to 65 employees from different departments in recognition of their exemplary services.
On the occasion, different prizes for various competitive events taken up during the weeklong celebration under Har Ghar Thanga Campaign under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav organised by ZEO Ukhrul were also distributed to the winners.
It is may be mentioned that Ukhrul Police Department SI Marching Wungmahai was presented Union Home Min ister's Medal for Excellence in Investigation for 2022 and Department of Information Technology Ukhrul Headquarters informatics officer Raimison WS received Chief Minister's Award for Good Governance in the individual category for 2021-2022 at the event.
SDPO Jessami, Ukhrul W Jadumani Singh was the Parade Commander of the day.
Altogether 16 contingents including ex-servicemen, Manipur Rifles, Manipur Police and students from both government and private schools participated in the march past.
Different cultural items were also presented by Nungbi Khullen Youth Club, Lower Hungpung Cultural Dance Troupe, All Manipur Gorkha Students' Association Ukhrul Unit along with performance of folk musician and artiste Thotreiso Keishing.
Various departments including District Industries, Medical, Forest, DSO, DSWO, ICPS and One Stop Centre (OSC) also put up their respective stalls at the site of the celebration.
The celebration culminated with a friendly football match between DC team and Police team.
