FOB Senapati organises SVEEP campaign

A one day Integrated Communication & Outreach Programme (ICOP) on Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) was organised by Field Outreach Bureau, Senapati under the ministry of Information & Broadcasting at Koso Baptist Church ground in Kamjong district on Sunday.
The programme held with Leishi village headman Rungshing Angkang and Koso village headman Wungam Makan as chief guest and guest of honour respectively was attended by SVEEP nodal officer of Ukhrul and Kamjong districts Philachui Sharon as resource person.
Speaking on the occasion, FOB Senapati field publicity officer Waribam Urmila informed that Field Outreach Bureau is the field publicity unit under the ministry of Information and Broadcasting and usually organises publicity programmes on various policies and schemes of central government.
The outreach programme on SVEEP was aimed at educating the eligible voters about the electoral process and encouraging them to participate in choosing their leader.
Speaking as the resource person, Philachui informed that Koso village was chosen for the outreach programme since Koso polling station recorded the lowest voter turnout in Kamjong district in the previous election.
She then appealed to the voters to participate in the elections and help in electing a leader of their choice to represent them.
She further informed that patients or old people who cannot come to polling stations may cast their votes at home through ballot paper.
An interaction round where audience asked their queries on electoral process was also conducted.
Performances of M/S Anouba Yaipha Thourang Marup, a private registered troupe (PRT) under Regional Outreach Bureau, Imphal rounded off the outreach programme.
Later a quiz was also conducted and prizes distributed.
