Imphal, February 28 2022:
Manipur State Council, Communist Party of India (MSC/CPI) has expressed discontentment that many Indians are stranded in Ukraine owing to incompetent measures of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
MSC/CPI in a statement has maintained that everyone was aware of the tense situation between Ukraine and Russia however the Ministry concerned of India failed to take up adequate measures which is really unfortunate.
After Russia declared war over Ukraine on February 24, many Indians are stranded in Ukraine and are facing many inconveniences which is really unfortunate, continued the statement.
But the party lauded the Indian Government's measures to bring back the stranded Indians to the country under 'Operation Ganga' with the help from Hungary, Poland and Romania.
Though the party welcomed the step of the Indian Government, they claimed that the delay in the initiative has added to the hardships of the stranded Indians.
Expressing concern over the situation of Indians who are taking shelter at the bunkers of Ukrainian soldiers, MSC/CPI has urged the Indian Government to ramp up measures to evacuate them and provide best possible aid to them for their safety.
MSC/CPI also reaffirmed its stand that war is not the solution for any conflict and expressed firm belief that any issue/conflict could be solved through peaceful means and meaningful dialogue.
