NWU denounces killings of any kind

Imphal, November 15 2013 :
Naga Women's Union (NWU) has expressed concern over the killings in different manners that have taken place on November 12 and 13 in different parts of the State.
In a statement issued by its Publicity Wing, NWU said it is concern over the barbaric killing of MPP Vice President Haobijam Manisana at Changangei Ucheckon, Tiddim Road at around 10:00 am on 13 November 2013, the unwanted incident at Ragailong where one W.Thembung s/o Priyachandra of Thangmeiband Lairenhanba Leikai was lynched on 13 November 2013 at around 6:30 pm and the factional killing between NSCN (IM) and ZUF cadres at Phalong (Bhalok) Village in Tamenglong District Headquarters on 12 November 2013 .
"We, the Naga Women vehemently condemn all the killings for no human being has the right to kill for reasons or no reason.
Violence and criminal actions have destroyed the fabrics of our society.
We are on the verge of destruction because of all these inhumane actions", the NWU statement said, while conveying condolences to the bereaved families.
The Naga women body also appealed to all sections of people to join in protection of innocent lives and to extend full cooperation so that such inhumane crimes are prevented in the future and justice is delivered.
It also appealed to the armed groups not to make their villages or towns a killing field but avoid from engaging in shoot out in public places, villages and towns.
Expressing concern over the injuries caused to protestors in police action, NWU further called upon the government not to invite bandhs or public agitations by ignoring the crimes for the people for justice.
