Neiphiu Rio condemns Manisana's killing

The Chief Minister of Nagaland and the convenor of the North East Regional Parties Front (NERPF), Neiphiu Rio, condemns the violent killing of Haobijam Manisana Singh, the vice president of the Manipur People's Party (MPP) .
The statement of Neiphiu Rio made available to Newmai News Network said, "The killing of Shri Haobijam Manisana Singh, the vice president of the Manipur People's Party (MPP), deserves the highest level of condemnation from all right thinking citizens.
It is an attack on the democratic principles of the country and can only be carried out by the enemies of democracy.
The forces of justice must unite to combat the agents of violence and fear" .
"Late Shri Haobijam Manisana Singh was a serving vice president of the Manipur People's Party (MPP) and he was a respected and senior leader in Manipur.
He had given the best years of his life to the service of the people and made significant contributions towards the people's welfare, especially the weaker sections of society.
His sudden and shocking demise is a setback for the MPP in particular and also for the people of Manipur.
The vacuum created by his demise will be difficult to fill," Neiphiu Rio stated.
"We pray to Almighty God to let his soul rest in peace and also to comfort his family members in this hour of grief.
I extend condolences on behalf of all members and affiliates of the NERPF, especially to the family members of the departed leader and to the MPP, who have lost a tall and respected leader.
The prayers and support of the NERPF is with you during this time of grief," Rio condoled.
The NERPF also expresses solidarity to the MPP during this difficult hour and appeal to all sections of the people and the concerned authorities to make efforts to bring the culprits of this most condemnable act to book and let justice prevail.
