NWU condemns

Naga Women's Union (NWU) vehemently condemned the killings MPP Vice President Haobijam Manisana; W Thembung s/o Priyachandra of Thangmeiband Leirou Hanjaba Leikai and the encounter at Phalong (Bhalok) Village on Nov 12 .
"Violence and criminal actions have destroyed the fabrics of our society.
We are on the verge of destruction because of all these inhumane actions," a statement issued by NWU said.
NWU also deeply condoled and shares solidarity to the deceased families.
It appealed all sections of people to join in protection of innocent lives and to extend full cooperation and work collectively that such inhumane crimes are prevented in the future and justice is delivered.
The union also appealed armed groups not to make their villages or towns a killing field but avoid from encounter in public places, villages and towns.
The NWU further expressed serious concern over causing injuries on account of Police Crackdown by firing tear gas shells and using bombs upon the innocent public for rallying and raising public voices against crimes, violence and injustice committed against the people.
It urged the Government not to invite bandhs and public agitations by not addressing the appeals and representations for their grievances and injustice committed against them.
Instead, it appealed the Government to settle problems and conflicts through dialogue and negotiation which is a civilised standard resolving conflict for all.
