Village Economy campaign launched

An International Campaign for Village Economy with an aim to establish Manipur Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital was launched at D-Cacus Education Centre conference hall, Ningthoukhong Kha Leikai on Saturday.
The programme was attended by D-Cacus Education Centre chief managing director and social scientist Dr I S Kongthoujam as chief guest, LPS Private Limited director K Ningthemjao Singh as president and Royal Education Centre, Kha Potshangbam Nachou principal L Gangamani Singh as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr IS Kongthoujam explained that under the Village Economy campaign, 12 schemes that incorporate Individual Development, Free Housing, Free Education Facilities, Livelihood/Income Generating Activities, Projects and Social Security, Family/Group Development, Infrastructure Development/Industries, Employment/Recognition, Cooperation with Media Group, Link with Government Facilities and Activities on Covid-19 will be taken up.
He further stated that the proposed multicrore Manipur Institute of Medical Sciences Hospital will have 24 departments.
Plans are also afoot to run the Hospital under free treatment, subsidised rate and general category.
The Hospital will be a private one and not connected to the government.
The Hospital has close connection with Village Economy campaign as it aims to generate employment for about 10,000 people, Dr IS Kongthoujam emphasised.
